For most of his career, David Heenan worked as a Copywriter and Creative Director of well-known Advertising Agencies such as McCann-Erickson,Young & Rubicam and Ted Bates in Europe and Sydney, Australia. During this time he won some 30 Awards internationally for Creative Excellence in the fast paced arena of Advertising.

 

For four years David Heenan then served as the Marketing & Communications Manager for a publicly listed company developing and offering new environmental technologies.

 

He is also the author of six travel books – all related to Australia’s spectacular Great Barrier Reef region. Titles published include: The Great Barrier Reef : A Guide to the Reef, Its Islands and Resorts; Dunk Island & Beaver Cay; Heron Island; Daydream Island (and The Whitsundays); Hayman (and The Whitsundays); and Cairns to Cooktown.

 

David Heenan is married to Melody, whom he met in Africa whilst on assignment for World Vision, and has four children. David and his family attend Surf City Christian Church on the Gold Coast, a popular and sunny tourist destination in Queensland, Australia.
